Emma in 2nd Grade

Emma had a program today that both Heather and I got to go to.  I took the afternoon off work and was excited to see her at school.  She did a skit and read a poem she wrote.  Great job Emma!

Nolan Preschool Graduation

We went to Nolan's preschool graduation today.  He's decided to pursue further education.  We encouraged him that there are not too many places looking for preschool grads.  There were eleven or so kids in his class.  His grandparents all got to attend too!  We love you Nolan!

Turkey Run

I took the youth ministry teens to Turkey Run today.  We had a group of 18 hiking the trails today.  It was great and beautiful weather.  Some of the trails were muddy from all the rain and the creek was too high to canoe as we had planned.  A fun day though.

We did see some Boy Scouts hiking as well.  Several of them were training for a trip to Philmont!  I never went there while I was in scouting but it would have been a great adventure.

Swim Team

Nolan made the swim team and is excited to join with his older brother and sister.  It will be a fun time watching all three kids swim this season.  The first meet is on June 2.  Nolan did great in his Learn to Swim class.

Bauer Reunion

We went to the Bauer Reunion today in CP.  This would be my mom's side of the family and in particular, my grandpa, Aaron Bauer's family.  He had 8 brothers and 3 sisters.  It's fun to sit and listen to the stories of their upbringing.  There were some more great ones today.

Can't remember who this one was about, one of my great aunts, I believe but, on a trip up to Danville, driving through Rossville, she got stopped by a cop and the following exchange ensued:
Officer:  Do you always drive this way?
my aunt:  No, sometimes I go through Potomoc.

HA!

Another time one of my grandpa's brothers was stopped for going through a stop sign.
Officer:  Did you see that stop sign back there?
Bauer brother:  Yes, but I didn't see you.

Heather said she better understands where I get my sense of humor from after today.

Chloe K 5K

Alex, Roger and I ran in the Chloe K 5K this morning.  The run is put on to support OAR (Organization for Autism Research).

This was Alex's first ever 5K and he did great, finishing in under 30 minutes in 29:57!  The overall winner was my dear father-in-law w/ a time of 19:00!  I finished somewhere in between.  This was the 4th year and a great morning for a run or walk.

Mother's Day

Heather and I spent the afternoon picking up some flowers and a new burning bush to plant for Mother's Day.  The bush was also part of a gift in honor of my grandma who passed a way this past February.

It was a beautiful day to beautify our landscaping!
