Gull Lake

The family went to Gull Lake while Phil was in Brazil.  A great week enjoyed under the teaching of Lloyd Shadrach.

Brazil - Rehab Center / Fortaleza

The last day, on Saturday, the guys spent time at a Drug Rehab clinic jumping in a well (check out the footage), playing soccer and swimming. 

We went to Fortaleza in the evening to watch the sunset, shop at the beach market and go out to dinner.

Brazil - Vazea Queimada

We spent two days out at Vazea Queimada (VQ).  This was a remote village that was a 2.5 hour bus ride away.  We did similar activities there.  Some of the money we raised went into completing their church building!

Brazil - Grupo CEO

We had a spectacular mission trip to Brazil this year.  We had a team of 14 travel 6,500+ miles to the northeast part of Brazil near Fortaleza.

The first few days were spent at the main campus of Grupo CEO where Bill and Erika Moore serve as missionaries.  We did activities with the kids such as VBS and played games.  We helped with some other projects as well like trimming trees and some concrete work.

Nolan's Party

We had Nolan's birthday party (number 7) on Thursday night this week.  Both sets of grandparents were here for it.  He gets to see Phil's family all next week at Gull Lake Ministries for family camp!

We went to the Fair and then back home for cake and ice cream. The cake is made to look like a Nintendo DS.  I thought my wife captured its essence quite nicely. 

4-H Fair

The kids did well in their 4H projects this year.  Alex won Grand Champion on his computer poster and Emma got Division Champion for her sewing project.

Nolan finally got to ride his bike!

Nolan turned 7 years old today.  He got a new bike!  But earlier he cut his toe so didn't get to ride it yet.

Church at the Fair

Our church hosted it's annual service at the Fair.  We've been doing it since about 2003.  After the service today, we got a picture of Emma with this years Fair Queen Court.

Softball

I played softball again this summer.  My favorite position is second base.  I also played outfield and even started a few games at shortstop.  I like short a lot more than I thought I would.  Our team did pretty well this year compared to previous years.  We won close to half our games and went 1-2 in the tournament.

July 4th

We spent the afternoon with Heather's extended family at Eldon's pond in Wolcott.  Then went to Thomas' to watch the Wolcott fireworks.  We had absolutely perfect weather and had a ton of fun swimming, zip lining, and being out on the water.
